Bank of America’s Wynne Lum Appointed to California Council on Economic Education Board of Directors
Los Angeles (May 30, 2009 – William Coffin, Chairman of the Board of the California Council on Economic Education (CCEE), announced today the appointment of Wynne Lum to the organization’s Board of Directors.
As Senior Vice President and Program Manager on Bank of America’s Global Community Impact Team, Wynne focuses on philanthropic support of asset-building programs for youth, working individuals and families. He evaluates and manages programs, providers and service deliveries, and measures the effectiveness and impact of these programs on communities. One of the central aspects of Lum’s work is supporting financial education for youth, which underscores Bank of America’s belief that effective personal financial management begins with helping youth develop good habits.
“Wynne and Bank of America share CCEE’s philosophy about the importance of economic and financial literacy, and Wynne’s experience exemplifies his commitment to youth education,” Coffin said. “He has been an integral supporter of our organization and we look forward to his contributions moving forward.”
Mr. Lum worked previously in Community Development on programs for low and moderate income consumers. Prior to Community Development, Wynne was a human resources professional at the Bank, where he held leadership positions in staffing, compensation, special benefits and line of business partnerships.
“For years, the CCEE has been influencing the state education agenda to include more extensive economics curriculum and helping educators effectively teach these lessons to all students,” Mr. Lum said. “I’m honored to be joining CCEE’s board and working with other board members and its executive team to advance economic and financial literacy in California.”
